Known as the "Isle of Enchantment," Puerto Rico is a collection of islands in the Caribbean that are also an unincorporated US territory. There is a lot on offer within this group of islands: beautiful beaches, historical sites in Old San Juan, the only rainforest in the US National Parks System (El Yunque), and one of only a few Bioluminescent Bays in the world. The influences from the Taino Indians and the Spanish colonizers can be seen in architecture, food, language and music. Rising up from the Hurricanes of 2017, Puerto Rico provides a world of opportunities to experience island life while still being within the US allowing travelers to rely on American comforts like communications in English (although Spanish is also recognized as an additional national language), the US dollar, Uber and ATMs from your local US bank.
